Opening May 11th, Fresh Eye Gallery presents the bed beside me, an exhibition curated by Drew Maude-Griffin. This exhibition honors artists who create from bed—building worlds and crafting plans in their minds, or on the blank canvas of the bedroom ceiling. “I do everything from my bed, sometimes that’s my only option due to my disabilities. Some of my favorite pieces have come from being ‘stuck’ in bed,” Maude-Griffin asserts.

Maude-Griffin seeks to bridge the gap between private and public spaces and highlight the generative possibilities of working from bed with a diverse showing of work from local, out-of-state, and international artists. This exhibition includes paintings, drawings, documented performances, videos, collages, sculptures, textiles, and photography, created from or planned from bed.
